Tragil Wade was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois and obtained her primary education through Chicago Public Schools. Growing with an extended family, she often served in the capacity of a caregiver to her siblings. It is through these experiences that she discovered a passion for nurturing, equipping and educating youth. Those very same occurrences also heightened Tragil's awareness of the importance of literacy and equal access to educational and life changing opportunities.
In 1995, Tragil relocated to San Diego, CA where she graduated from Crawford High School. She went on to pursue her desire to impact the lives of young children and teens, by earning a teaching certificate in Early Childhood Education, at San Diego City College.
She returned to her hometown of Chicago where she gained employment at Community High School District 218. It is here that she instructed children 3 to 17 years of age. In 2005, she earned her Bachelor's Degree from Chicago State University. In 2006, Tragil Wade became the Executive Director of Wade's World Foundation. Through her work with Wade's World Foundation, Tragil is not only able to fulfill her life's purposes of educating and empowering youth but is also able to significantly advance the lives of the youth and families around the globe.
In 2014 she founded Americas Big Sister. Through this brand she is empowering young women across the country to live rise above difficult circumstances, reach for their dreams, and live their best lives. Tragil has become a sought after speaker for schools, churches, mentoring groups, non-profits. She leaves a trail of hope and success everywhere she goes.
